The second solo album from Jimmy Campbell from 1970 saw him team up with a brace of former Merseybeat contemporaries including a couple of Merseybeats, Pete Clarke from The Escorts and Badfinger’s Joey Molland. Roundly praised as his greatest work, it’s filled with solemn odes and heartfelt melodies with Campbell’s aching vocal ladling on the emotion as strings spiral off shuffling rhythms with a strange sense of tragedy surrounding the whole affair. Pure melancholy.
