A reggae classic from the Massive Attack-approved Horace Andy, his first to be recorded with a non-Jamaican producer, 'In the Light' was released in 1977 and applauded as one of his best works, a breakthrough of lilting roots reggae courtesy of New York-based Everton DaSilva, who also worked with Bunny Lee. DaSilva cleans up the sound even though it was recorded in Jamaica and adds some nice keyboard flourishes and brass courtesy of Tommy McCook as the album embraces politic and the social situation on 'Government Land' and 'Problems' respectively.
